How it works

Quillfuel exists to give writers, artists, and publishers the resources they need to do great things.

We’ve devised an easy way for readers and supporters to pay once and have their moneys disbursed based on what sites they choose to visit and how long they spend on those sites. Readers vote with their feet, or eyeballs, or whatever other body parts we can turn into metaphors.

Readers pay once per year—or whenever they choose—and only have to do so in one place, as opposed to signing up for dozens of subscriptions. Quillfuel pools all the funds and pays them out to participating publications based on how much tie Quillfuel members have spent on each network site. In other words, as a Quillfuel member, every time you read a story or watch a video on a network site, you are voting for that site.

Quillfuel deducts a XX% credit card fee and a 3% processing fee. All other money goes to publications, writers, and artists.

Privacy

For this model to work, we need to know when Quillfuel members are on one of our network sites. In this sense, yes, we track you. However, all data is completely anonymous. In fact, we use Google Analytics as the backbone of the system, and Google wouldn’t give us identifiable data even if we asked.

Now, forget about us.

Mostly Quillfuel tries to get out of the way, to let writers write and readers read.

We all know that the system needs some money, so that creators have the time and means to create, but leave that to us. Go live your life.
